“Charlie has brought a lot of joy into my life. She’s my sidekick. I’m a very active guy, and she fits right into that. Honestly, I’ll probably never find another dog like her.”

The Challenge

Finding the right dog was not a casual decision for Neil. He wasn’t simply looking for a pet. He wanted a very specific type of dog, one that was intelligent, highly trained, and capable of fitting into his active lifestyle.

As someone constantly moving, building businesses, and managing a full schedule, Neil didn’t have the time or interest to navigate endless uncertainty, questionable breeders, or unreliable sources. And with a breed like the Belgian Malinois, he understood that opportunities to find the right dog do not come around often.

The challenge wasn’t training an existing dog or fixing behavior issues. It was finding the right dog from the beginning, with confidence that the animal, the source, and the experience would all meet a very high standard.

“I was looking for a dog like Charlie, and that’s not something that’s easy to find. Dogs like this don’t come around that often. Absolute Canine handled so much of the process that it made everything incredibly easy for me.”

The Approach

Neil was introduced to Absolute Canine through trusted personal connections, which gave him an initial level of confidence. From there, the process was direct and straightforward.

Rather than forcing him through a complicated sales process, Absolute Canine focused on communication, relationship-building, and helping him feel confident in the decision. There were conversations over text, a Zoom call, and eventually an in-person visit where Neil drove from New Jersey to Pennsylvania to meet the dogs and the team.

That visit gave him the chance to spend real time getting comfortable with both the dog and the people behind the business before making the commitment.

What stood out most was how seamless the process felt. Neil didn’t feel like he had to “figure it all out” on his own. Absolute Canine handled the heavy lifting, making the process simple, clear, and reassuring.

Even after bringing Charlie home, the relationship didn’t end there. Neil continued to receive support whenever questions came up, reinforcing that this was more than just a transaction.

The Results

Neil found exactly what he was looking for: a trained Belgian Malinois that immediately became a major part of his life.

Charlie wasn’t just a dog that checked a box. She became his constant companion, someone he describes as his sidekick. For an active person with a demanding lifestyle, having a dog that was already well-trained and ready to integrate into daily life made an enormous difference.

Just as importantly, Neil came away with complete confidence in the experience itself. The trust, communication, and continued support after the purchase made the entire process feel easy and dependable.

For Neil, the outcome wasn’t simply getting a dog. It was finding a companion he deeply values and a team he genuinely respects.

from 200+ reviews
  • What happens in the free evaluation?

We meet your dog, discuss goals/challenges, assess fit, and recommend the right program with clear next steps and timeline.
  • What training approach do you use?

Balanced, humane, operant-based training with a clear marker system—rewarding what we want and fairly interrupting what we don’t.
  • Do you use tools like prong or e-collars?

Only when appropriate for the dog and goals, and always with owner consent and coaching. Tools are introduced thoughtfully and phased as skills grow.
  • Do you work with reactivity or aggression?

Yes—case by case. We start with safety and management, set realistic milestones, and progress as your dog is ready.
  • Will my dog forget me during a board & train?

No. Your bond isn’t replaced. We include owner transfer sessions and a maintenance plan so behaviors stick at home.
  • What skills do you teach?

Engagement, heel/loose-leash, sit/down/stay, place, recall, calm greetings, and household manners; advanced tracks add off-leash reliability.
  • How do you choose between private lessons, day school, and board & train?

After the evaluation we match your goals, schedule, and your dog’s temperament to the program that delivers reliable results fastest.
  • When can we start training (puppies/adults)?

Puppies can begin foundations as soon as they’re home and cleared by your vet; adult dogs can start anytime after evaluation.
  • What’s included after training?

Owner transfer coaching, a written maintenance plan, and access to follow-up support or refreshers as needed.
  • How is pricing handled?

We share pricing after the evaluation along with a tailored plan—no surprise add-ons. We’ll outline deposits, schedule, and next steps in writing.
