It is important to note that our training programs are proven and effective! We have trained literally thousands of dogs over 25 years, and have many success stories. Over that period of time we've built an excellent reputation and have many long-lasting relationships with our clients. We care, and want to stay in close contact with each of our students and their families beyond the completion of their training program.

The foundation training that you'll receive here will serve you and your dog for a lifetime! This foundation will allow you to continue to teach and train beyond what's established here. We also offer a lifetime of communication and support through our varying services which includes:

  • access to our private online Facebook group
  • exclusive boarding and grooming privileges
  • opportunity for continuing education through our day school service

The goal of our program is to influence and educate each dog and their family for successful, symbiotic living. Our training programs create an effective means for communication between you and your dog. Your dog will learn:

  • training concepts
  • manners
  • what it means to have a leader
  • self-control
  • principles
  • accountability
  • consequences
  • behavior modification
  • and a translation

Our training is balanced, operant based and utilizes a marker system.

Program: Basic Obedience Classes

What: Our basic obedience program for dogs ~6 months and older. These classes lay the foundation principles of our obedience system. In these classes you will learn concepts of:

  • engagement
  • sit, down, stand, combinations of the three
  • sit-stay, down-stay, stand-stay
  • heeling
  • place
  • come when called
  • "NO!"
  • eye contact
  • finish
  • marker system and much more!

What to bring:

  • 1-2 meals – Maximum of 3 cups of food – in our training we use the dog's food. We do not use extra treats or different treats. This creates an avenue where the dog is working for their meals instead of treats. This creates value for the food instead of always trying to find a higher value treat. We always soak the dog's food prior to training so it is easier to chew and digest. Have the food soak in warm water so that it is soft but not soggy and falling apart. All food is different so that determines how much soak time is necessary. In order for your session to be successful the dog must be hungry. Depending on your training session time with us we highly suggest you skip the meal prior to that time, whether it be dinner the night before, breakfast the day of, or lunch
  • Leash and collar – all dogs MUST be on leash prior to exiting the car and coming onto the property. PLEASE do not exit the car with your dog until we tell you to do so
  • Food pouch – if you don't have one, we have one you can use for your first lesson

Cost: $850 – cash, check, credit card, Zelle, or Venmo: @absolutecanine. This is a 6-session package with Amanda and/or Sean. Lessons are 1:1 and typically last 1 hour.

Once payment is made you will receive the video of our first training concept!

*This package is the beginning of training: depending on your dogs' temperament, your skills as a handler, and how well you do your homework will determine how many subsequent packages you will need to fully complete our curriculum and the concepts in our program.

    Puppies can begin foundations as soon as they’re home and cleared by your vet; adult dogs can start anytime after evaluation.
